Define Point System
This is the section of the Launch Wizard where you will select the point/expectation type to be used for your school.
There are three options for awarding points within PBIS Rewards. You will need to select one of the following options: Points Only (1-10), Expectations with 1-Point Scale, and Expectations with 3-Point Scale.
Not sure which one will work best for your school? Click here to see a side-by-side comparison. We have created this point/expectation comparison chart to help you determine which option would be best for your school. This chart has been developed from information gathered from speaking with schools using PBIS Rewards over the years.
Each school awards points in its own unique way. You have the ability to select which option works best for your school, staff, students, and PBIS initiative. None of our schools are alike. This is why we have created 3 different options to choose from.
If you select one of the formats that include expectations, you are able to define those there as well. Respect, Responsibility, and Safety are the prefilled selections, but these can be edited, deleted, or added to.
- Edit by selecting the box and typing in the field
- Remove an expectation by selecting the X
- Select “Add a new expectation” to create a field where you can enter a new expectation
- Enter the new expectation
- Save the changes
While selecting a point/expectation type is required during the Launch Wizard process, you CAN change it once you have logged into PBIS Rewards. Please note, changing point definitions after points have been awarded can negatively impact your reporting and token economy.
We recommend that you engage your school’s PBIS team before selecting a point/expectation type.
