iPhone/iPad Cannot Access Scanner

If you are unable to scan ID badges and your iPhone or iPad gives you a message similar to: “Scan Failed: Unable to obtain video capture device input” then you may have inadvertently turned off camera access from the app. When you first install the PBIS Rewards Staff App, you may be asked if you will allow the app to access the camera. Clicking “Don’t Allow” will prevent the app from scanning ID badges.

Fortunately, this is easy to fix. First click the Settings button on your home screen.


Next, scroll down and find the PBIS Rewards Staff App on the Settings Screen and click on it.


It is likely that you will see that access to the camera is turned off.


Click the slider to turn on access to the camera and your app should start functioning again.
