Need to pick a student to do a task or to start a reading? The random button will choose an individual from a group of students for you.

  1. From the left-side main menu choose the “Groups” tab and then select the group that you would like to use.
  2. Use “Select All” if you would like to pick from all of the students in the group or click to select each student to be included in the drawing.
  3. Next, select “Random.”
  4. Select “Close” to close the pop-up.
  • If you would like to select another winner from that group, use the “Random” button again to draw another winner. This selection will exclude the previously selected student. Remember to leave the same students selected. If you unselect any of the students, it resets the entire group, including the winners.

You can continue to select “Winners” in this fashion until there are no unselected students remaining in the set. You will receive this message when all have been selected: “All selected students have been chosen.” This message will be followed by information about the number of students in the set.

Leaving the “Random” feature to use another “Group” screen feature or selecting a new set of students will reset the “Random” selection tool. If you desire to continue a “round” later, you must record the subset of students that are already “winners.” Start your next round of selection excluding those students from the set.
